Incident at Fredericton NB


2000-01-17: ARN831 DH8 estimated Frederickton at 1608, cleared for a straight in VOR Rwy 27 approach. Due to weather deteriorating in snow, FSS called ACC to pass updated weather to ARN831. Moncton ACC advised the aircraft was changed over to FSS frequency. When no contact was made, FSS called Air Canada operations to have aircraft contact FSS, and through co-ordination with the ACC received an updated position. ARN831 landed rwy 27 and first contact with FSS was made shortly after. Crew apologized several times and advised they mistakenly selected 119.9 versus 119.0 Nil TSB
