Incident at Gander Oceanic

2000-01-18: BAW2232 B772 ROUTING 44N050W 0144Z 50N040W 0247Z coordinated with Gander from New York as crossing 44N050W at F410. TWA900 B762 ROUTING RAFIN 0146Z 45N050W 0156Z 45N040W 0251Z AT F390. When Gander received the 50W progress on BAW2232 the A/C reported maintaining F390, this report was confirmed a few moments later with New York. The Gander Ocean controller then coordinated with the Gander Planner and High Level Domestic to have TWA900 moved to F380. The TWA900 started out of F390 at 50w at 0156z and was level at 0158z. These aircraft crossed on the ocean with approximately 10 minutes where 15 minutes would have been required and although the TWA900 was still under Radar coverage when vertical was established separation had not been assured. New York OACC advises they will be investigating. TSB Case Closed with more to follow. Update TSB file # A00A0005
