Incident at Rae Lakes, NT (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1999-10-18: C-GIVW, a Cessna 185, blew a tire on touchdown at Rae Lakes (EV4). The pilot advised Yellowknife FSS by phone at 1806Z and stated that the a/c was stuck on the runway and requested a NOTAM be issued to that effect. Artic Airports manager approved a notam runway closure. The pilot called back at 1845Z to advise the aircraft was clear of the runway and the NOTAM was cancelled. No delays. OPI - System Safety
