Incident at Calgary, AB


1999-10-18: The aircraft had departed Ottawa on routine scheduled flight to Calgary. At approximately 100 mi NE of Calgary the crew advised ATC that they had a hydraulic failure. The aircraft was cleared direct to Calgary for an approach on Runway 34. CFR were called out, the crew landed the aircraft without further incident on Runway 34 at 1725Z. The runway remained closed until 1735Z while the runway was checked for FOD and the aircraft was towed to the ramp area. There were no injuries to the 66 SOB and the aircraft was undamaged. The company advised that the 737 lost its "A" system hydraulics. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reportesd that THE BOEING 737 LOST IT'S "A" SYSTEM HYDRAULICS. ATC WAS ADVISED OF THE SITUATION. EMERGENCY VEHICLES WERE CALLED OUT ON STANDBY. THE FLIGHT LANDED ON RUNWAY 34 AND WAS TOWED TO THE TERMINAL
