Incident at EDMONTON CITY CENTRE / BLATCHFORD AB (CYXD)

Summary

1999-10-06: The crew of C-GBXV, a Beech Duchess, was conducting IFR training at City Centre Airport (YXD) and encountered a gear problem (unable to lower). A fly-by the Tower confirmed the gear was only partially extended. The aircraft held to the northeast, the crew lowered the gear manually, and returned for an uneventful landing at YXD at 2319Z. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE M. & M. reported that the Edmonton Flying Club indicated that the reason they had to do a manual extension before landing was that the landing gear motor burnt out. They sent it for repair at an approved AMO.
