Summary

1999-09-28: AT APPROXIMATELY 0611Z, EDMONTON ACC INFORMED WINNIPEG (YWG) ACC THAT ACA 854, A B767 ENROUTE FROM VANCOUVER TO HEATHROW, WAS DIVERTING TO YWG DUE TO A MEDICAL EMERGENCY ON BOARD. A PASSENGER HAD SUFFERED AN APPARENT HEART ATTACK. A PHYSCIAN ON BOARD HAD STABILIZED THE PASSENGER AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO DIVERT TO YWG FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. ATC ASSISTED IN RELAYING INFORMATION BETWEEN THE A/C AND ACA OPERATIONS TO FACILITATE THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE. ACA 854 LANDED ON RUNWAY 18 AT 0807Z. NO OTHER A/C WERE DELAYED.ACA854 DEPARTED YWG FOR EGLL AT 0908Z. OPI - SYSTEM SAFETY
