Incident at 7 NM W of Calgary, AB

2000-03-29: C-GAHA, a Bell 206, was enroute from Sherwood Park to Okotoks when the pilot reported an unspecified engine problem and autorotated into a field about 7 miles west of Calgary. The pilot reported making a safe landing through another, overflying a/c. About 5 minutes later, C-GAHA got airborne and flew to Springbank Airport. The nature of the engine problem is not known. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE M. & M. reported that: In conversation with pilot-owner, he had an engine out warning horn come on in flight. He started an autorotation until he realized everything was operating normally. He landed and could find nothing wrong and so proceeded to Springbank where the aircraft was inspected by a helicopter- rated AME. Nothing was found wrong at this time but shortly after, the engine out warning pressure switch was changed because of intermittent problems. This was an LSTC'd engine out warning system installed .
