Incident at Tuktoyaktuk, NT


1999-08-25: AKK 401, an EMB 110, struck a seagull on final to Runway 09 at Tuktoyaktuk. The only damage to the aircraft was a small dent in the wing. OPI: Aerodrome Safety UPDATE Aerodrome Safety reported that the airport operator advises that birds are not normally a problem at this site and they believe this to be an isolated incident. The maintainer at the site works half days and on the day in question did not note any unusual bird activity. No further action contemplated.
