Incident at Enroute Calgary to Medicine Hat, AB

Summary

1999-08-16: The aircraft, enroute IFR from Calgary to Medicine Hat was struck by one or two lightning strikes on the right propeller spinner. Lightning exited the trailing edge of the propeller blade onto the aircraft nose, over the windshield and exited on the top of the tail. Damage to aircraft - right propeller warped, right engine to be replaced, small hole at tope of tail with one rivet missing and several rivets with heat discoloration. OPI: System Safety
