Incident at THOMPSON MB (CYTH) (Aerodrome - other)

Summary

1999-07-29: The pilot of C-GMSF, a Piper Seneca, was re-positioning the a/c from the north ramp to the south ramp at Thompson Airport. He made 2 radio calls to FSS but did not receive an immediate response because the FSS specialist was busy with another matter. When the pilot did not get a response, he began to taxi on Taxiway C to cross Runway 05/23 and did not broadcast his intentions on the MF. The FSS specialist was able to make contact with the pilot before he crossed the runway. No other a/c were inconvenienced. OPI - System Safety
