Incident at Vicinity of Brandon, MB

Summary

1999-07-26: Raven 2, a CT-114 Tutor, was enroute from Regina to Winnipeg and when the a/c was 60 miles west of Brandon, the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit. He advised that he was declaring an emergency and diverting to Brandon, where the a/c landed safely at 0338Z with ERS on standby. NORAD called ATC inquiring as to the status of the emergency squawk and was informed about the occurrence. No other a/c were inconveneienced. OPI - System Safety
