Incident at Winnipeg, MB

Summary

1999-07-26: The pilot of SNOWBIRD 8, a CT-114 Tutor inbound to Winnipeg (YWG), declared an emergency at 2220Z when approximately 30 miles south of the Langruth VOR due to the loss of hydraulics. CFR responded. A/C continued to YWG and landed safely Runway 36 at 2237Z and taxied off Runway 36 onto Runway 25. Runways 36 and 25 were closed due to hydraulic fluid that had leaked onto the runways. A/C was towed to the ramp and runways clean at 2258Z. No other a/c were inconvenienced. OPI - System Safety
