Incident at Thompson, MB (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1999-07-22: Birddog 2, a Cessna 310, returning from a local flight, landed on Runway 23 at Thompson at 2137Z. The pilot advised the aircraft was stuck on the runway due to a blown tire. CAV 2585, a HS 748, on final for Runway 05, was pulled up and held on the Thompson NDB for approximately 15 minutes until Birddog 2 could be pushed clear of Runway 05/23 and onto Runway 14/32. At this point, Runway 05/23 was reopened. Birddog 2 had the tire changed then taxied clear at 2207Z. Runway 14/32 was also closed for approximately 15 minutes as a result. Weather was not a factor.
