Incident at Calgary, AB (Conflict - loss of separation, ATS operating irregularity)
1999-07-22: CDN 97, a DC-10 was outbound from Calgary (YYC) to Heathrow, climbing to FL 250. NTM 600, a Fairchild Metro III, was inbound to YYC from Saskatoon, descending to 16,000 feet. The YYC Departure Controller informed the Alsask Sector Controller that CDN 97 would be re-cleared to 15,000 feet with reference to NTM 600, which the Alsask Sector Controller acknowledged. The YYC Departure Controller forgot to re-clear CDN 97 as arranged, and instructed the crew to contact the Alsask Sector Controller. Radar spacing between the two aircraft reduced to 6.80 miles in opposite direction before vertical was re-established. OPI - ANS and Airspace UPDATE ANS reported that a Fact-Finding Board will be convened.
