Incident at Iqaluit, NT

Summary

1999-06-23: The First Air B727 departed Resolute Bay for Nanisivik with 41 people on board, but the crew determined that they could not land there, so diverted to their alternate, Iqaluit. After arrival over Iqaluit, the crew was advised that their approach time would be in 36 minutes due to traffic. The Captain then declared minimum fuel and priority was given to the flight, which landed at 2024Z with 5,900 pounds of fuel. OPI - System Safety
