Accident at PINCHER CREEK AB (CZPC)

Summary

1999-06-18: The RCMP detachment at Pincher Creek informed Lethbridge FSS of a fatal accident at the Pincher Creek Airport involving C-IIER, an Ultravia Pelican Club ultralight a/c. There were two people on board the ultralight, which reportedly hit a power line and then impacted the ground, causing fatal injuries to the occupants. Two investigators from Edmonton TSB have gone to the site and more details will be available. OPI - System Safety UPDATE It was later reported that there was one fatality in the accident, not two as originally stated, and the second individual is in critical condition in hospital.
