Incident at PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE / SOUTHPORT MB (CYPG)

Summary

1999-06-08: Mustang 89, a Beech King Air with 2 people on board for a local VFR training flight, was on approach at Southport when the crew reported an unsafe gear indication. They carried out a fly-by of the Tower and the gear was not down. They were subsequently able to lower the gear using the manual system and landed safely at 2138Z. Maintenance examination on the ground revealed that the problem was related to the power pack motor. The motor was replaced and the gear swung successfully several times. OPI - System Safety
