Incident at Winnipeg, MB


1999-05-25: MAL 7055, a B727, departed from Runway 36 at Winnipeg on a cargo flight to Calgary and as the a/c was passing through 3,000 feet ASL, the crew reported a bird strike. The crew believed that there was no damage, so they elected to continue to destination. OPI - Aerodrome Safety UPDATE The Director of Maintenance for Morningstar Air Express reports that the B727 hit a bird during climb out from Winnipeg on flight MAL 7055 for Federal Express. The aircraft was visually inspected for damage to the fuselage above the pilot's windshield, later, but none was found. Aerodrome Safety reported that the incident occurred outside the boundaries of the area where the airport's ongoing wildlife control program is in effect.
