Incident at Dauphin, MB

Summary

1999-05-27: CAV 2554, a Saab 340 with 29 people on board, was enroute from Winnipeg to Saskatoon when the crew advised that the windshield had cracked. They declared an emergency and diverted to Dauphin, where the flight landed without further trouble at 0101Z. TSB is looking into the incident and more information will be available. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reported that the right main windshield cracked and the Captain immediately descended to 10,000 feet and diverted to Dauphin. The passengers were deplaned and re-scheduled on another a/c. The Saab 340 was ferried back to base in Thompson after consultation with Transport Canada and a maintenance inspection.
