Incident at Parkbeg, SK

Summary

1999-05-17: Marlin 428, a Sikorsky CH-124 Sea King, departed CFB Moose Jaw on a VFR flight to Medicine Hat with 6 people on board. When the helicopter was about 30 miles west of Moose Jaw, one of the two hydraulic systems failed. The crew carried out a precautionary landing in a parking lot in the village of Parkbeg. The helicopter was not damaged and the occupants were not injured. Personnel from CFB Moose Jaw were dispatched to assist in the repair of the machine. OPI - System Safety
