Accident at Bar N Ranch, Turner Valley, AB

Summary

1999-04-20: The pilot of C-IJLB, a Blue Yonder E-Z Flyer ultralight with one passenger, was on approach to land at the Bar N Ranch airstrip when he encountered a wind shear just prior to touchdown. The ultralight landed hard and bounced several times while veering off the left side of the strip. It travelled about 400 feet before striking trees, seriously injuring the pilot.
