Accident at Barrick Farm, SK

Summary

1999-04-13: The pilot of C-GYDY, a Champion 7ECA, departed Scott, SK for a private airstrip at the Barrick Farm, 3 miles east of Outlook, SK. On touchdown, the pilot lost control of the a/c and it veered to the right off the runway and nosed over into a drainage ditch. The pilot was not injured and the damage was limited to a bent propeller and bent landing gear. Weather was good VFR at the time with light winds. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reported that the damage to the a/c is substantial, and includes the wings, main gear, propeller and engine cowling.
