Incident at Resolute Bay, NT

Summary

1999-05-03: North Bay FSS passed information to the Resolute Bay CARS operator of inbound traffic, FAB 8060, a DHC-6 Twin Otter, estimating arrival at 2124Z. The CARS operator initiated a radio call to FAB 8060 at 2124Z and received no contact. A communication search was initiated through North Bay FSS, which called the operator's headquarters. The company reported that the a/c was down at Resolute Bay at 2053Z. It appears that the crew did not contact CARS on the MF prior to arrival. OPI - Commercial and Business Aviation; Enforcement UPDATE CBA Ontario Region has spoken to the operator concerning this incident and the operator is looking into the matter. A report will be forwarded to the OPI when the information is obtained.
