Incident at Medicine Hat, AB

1999-03-24: The pilot of C-GIAB, a Cessna 172, taxied for departure from Medicine Hat and FSS provided an airport advisory for Runway 09. Just prior to departure, the pilot reported an unusual noise from the landing gear and elected to taxi back to the ramp. FSS requested that the pilot report prior to taxiing out again. About 10 minutes later, C-GIAB was observed taxiing to Runway 09 and taking off, without communicating with FSS. Several attempts to contact the pilot were unsuccessful. There was no conflicting traffic in the vicinity. OPI - Enforcement
