Accident at Dawson, YT

Summary

1999-03-23: The pilot of C-GXGQ, a homebuilt CA-65, a single engine two-seater, was on approach to Runway 02 at Dawson. The pilot reported he lowered the gear handle, but was distracted by gusty wind conditions and did not check gear down. As the a/c touched down, the partially extended gear collapsed. Although there were no injuries, it was reported that the a/c was substantially damaged. OPi - System Safety
