Accident at Villeneuve, AB

Summary

1999-03-22: C-GKEY, a Cessna 337 with 2 people on board, was on a training flight and the crew was conducting a short-field landing on Runway 16 at Villeneuve. It was reported that the a/c landed hard about 20 meters short of the threshold and skidded 150 meters before coming to a stop. The nosewheel collapsed, causing damage to the propeller and cargo pod on the underside of the fuselage. The occupants were not injured. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE M. & M. reported that the pilot indicated that there were no mechanical problems with the a/c prior to the incident. The a/c is currently at an AMO awaiting an insurance evaluation.
