Incident at Iqaluit, NT

Summary

1999-03-15: CFC 85, a CC-130 Hercules, was enroute from Thule AFB to CFB Trenton and was 50 miles north of Iqaluit when the crew reported shutting down the number 3 engine. They declared an emergency and were given priority to land at Iqaluit. Prior to landing, the crew dumped 22,000 pounds of fuel. The a/c landed safely at 2208Z and one other a/c was delayed for 10 minutes during the emergency. OPI - System Safety
