Incident at Saskatoon, SK (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1999-02-18: WEW 200, a Beech 200 King Air, landed on Runway 09 at Saskatoon and the a/c came to a stop on the runway. The crew advised that a brake had seized. The a/c remained on the runway for about 10 minutes and eventually the crew was able to release the brake by pumping the brake pedals. The crew was then able to taxi the a/c to the ramp without further problem. No other a/c were inconvenienced. OPI - Maintenance and Manufacturing UPDATE M. & M. reported that the company disassembled and inspected the brake assembly but could find no obvious faults. As a precaution, the brake lines, disc and caliper were replaced. The system tested satisfactorily and the a/c was returned to service. Maintenance suspects that snow/ice was the cause of the problem.
