Incident at Regina, SK

Summary

1999-02-12: CF-NRL, a Piper Cherokee, departed Regina (YQR) on a VFR flight to Kindersley and was about 25 miles west of YQR when the pilot began squawking 7600. The pilot returned to the airport NORDO, joined the circuit on the downwind leg behind the number 1 a/c and landed on Runway 31. The Terminal Controller maneuvered one a/c, ABL 621, a DHC-8, around the NORDO traffic. The pilot later informed FSS that his battery was not charging, so he turned his transponder to 7600 and returned. OPI - System Safety
