Incident at Edmonton, AB (Aerodrome, runway or taxiway shutdown)

Summary

1999-02-01: The crew of C-FAFT, a Beech King Air, had received takeoff clearance from Runway 12 at Edmonton International Airport for Fort St. John and the a/c was observed rolling part way down the runway and then stopping. The crew advised that the brakes seemed to be frozen and the a/c was disabled on Runway 12. The acitive runway was changed to Runway 02 while C-FAFT could be removed. Runway 12 was re-opened about 12 minutes later. OPI - System Safety
