Incident at Winnipeg, MB

1999-02-02: ROY 850, a B757, was in the takeoff roll when the crew aborted because of an indication of a cargo door coming open. The crew taxied the a/c back to the ramp. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reported that during the takeoff roll at 100 knots, the crew received an EICAS warning that the number 2 aft cargo door was open. After returning to the ramp, examination of the cargo hold revealed that several large pieces of luggage had fallen against the inside of the baggage door and had bent the door frame enough to break switch contact. The baggage was re-stowed, the a/c inspected and found to be serviceable. The operator has issued instructions to its staff to ensure that the baggage restraint net is in place in front of the door, and that all baggage is secure.
