Incident at 50 NM S of Winnipeg, MB

Summary

1999-01-22: CMM 343, an A320, was enroute from Toronto to Vancouver and about 50 miles south of Winnipeg (YWG) when the crew reported a medical emergency on board. The crew advised they were diverting to YWG and requested that an ambulance meet the a/c. The flight landed at YWG at 1445Z. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reported that a Flight Attendant who was positioning to Vancouver as a passenger aboard the A320, was having difficulty breathing. The crew declared a medical emergency and diverted to Winnipeg. Initial indications are that the passenger was suffering from pneumonia.
