Incident at Saskatoon, SK

1999-01-08: SSV 991, an A320, was in the takeoff roll for departure on a ferry flight from Saskatoon to Vancouver when the crew aborted the takeoff. The crew reported that the problem was a thrust reverser indication that came on during takeoff. The crew taxied the a/c back to the apron for a maintenance check. The initial information is that the reverser indication was due to a faulty indicator. TSB has been advised and more information will be available. OPI - System Safety UPDATE TSB reported that the crew observed a thrust reverser unlocked indication and power fluctuation on the number 2 engine during the takeoff roll. After a maintenance inspection, it is believed that the a/c experienced a faulty indication. After consultation with company maintenance in Toronto and Vancouver, the maintenance contractor in Saskatoon disabled the number 2 thrust reverser and the a/c was dispatched in accordance with the Minimum Equipment List. The a/c departed several hours later and completed the ferry flight to Vancouver with 7 crew on board.
