Incident at Halifax Intl


1999-11-02: ICN2284 AT43 departing Halifax Intl reported Engine Shutdown and returned Halifax. ERS standing by. No emergency, Aircraft landed safely 2017z TSB case Closed. Update:Crew noted that the # 2 Engine oil pressure was erratic,while in decent for a return for landing,in addition to the local alert , a central crew alert was detected(master warning for the oil system). The captain called for the checklist and shutdown the #2 Engine. Maintenance reported that the engine had lost all oil in the forward section of the #2 engine due to a prop governor seal failure.The aircraft has since has since been returned to service. Engine data is forthcoming, and will be entered upon receipt. TSB File #A99A0153
