Incident at 50 nm North East Halifax

Summary

1999-10-14: COA78 DC10 enroute Newark to Zurich when just inside Gander ATC boundary advised of Unruly Passenger and request clearance to Boston. When 50 nm NE of Halifax, pilot request direct route to Bangor. Shortly afterwards, flight requested direct Halifax and wanted armed intervention and ambulance standing by. One passenger and one Flight attendant were injured. Aircraft landed safely 0020z TSB evaluating. Update: TSB file # A99A0140
