Incident at Cavendish PEI


1999-10-07: CFMQO C172 advised of conducting a Forced Landing due to rough running engine. RCMP and TSB advised. TSB Case Closed. Update: The pilot was flying an air tour along the shoreline of Prince Edward Island when the engine began running rough. The pilot completed the checklist items associated with rough running engine but the engine continued to run poorly. The pilot elected to carry out a precautionary landing on a road within Cavendish Park. The landing was uneventful. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and discovered a stuck exhaust valve in cylinder # 2. The affected cylinder was replaced and the aircraft was ground run then returned to service.
