Incident at Saint John NB

Summary

1999-09-30: CGNGH PA28 IFR landing runway 23 at Saint John proceeded down runway 23 and asked the FSS where the taxiway was. FSS advised the flight to backtrack and when entering Taxi Alpha, pilot requested location of the BFO for tie downs. Pilot was advised to cross threshold of runway 32 and go into taxiway Bravo. After crossing Bravo pilot asked if he should turn right and was told to turn left. Shortly afterwards, the pilot reported that the aircraft was off the runway and stuck in a hold unable to move. RED 3 and 4 responded, removed aircraft from hole and escorted the flight to the BFO. Damage to propeller and one wheel pant. One aircraft had to divert. Nil TSB
