Incident at Halifax Intl

1999-09-29: ICN2203 F28 departing Halifax reported flight was turning in reaction to a TCAS resolution advisory. Conflict resolution was being provided between the aircraft involved and traffic had been passed. The pilot reported that the 500 feet separation and the fact that he was climbing would not be recognized by the TCAS as adequate spacing. Other Note: A DH8 departed a few minutes later and crossed paths in a similar manner with the same PA27 CGHMN. Knowing what had occurred earlier with the Inter Canadian flight the controller advised that the intended on using 500 feet vertical separation and would that be satisfactory. The DH8 flight requested 1000 feet and ATC complied. Update: Nil TSB
