Incident at Gander Domestic 80 Miles East of CYOMN


1999-09-15: ACA870 A340 enroute Montreal to Gander Domestic advised problem with # 3 engine at 36,000 feet. Requested and cleared to return to Montreal with engine at idle with no emergency. At 50 nautical miles of Stephenville crew advised #3 engine was back to normal and was cleared to Toronto. TSB Case Closed UPDATE : Maintenance discovered a faulty T12 sensor which was replaced and as a precaution the hydro- mechanical unit was also replaced. Engine ground run completed and aircraft returned to service. TSB file # A99A0126
