Incident at Charlottetown PEI


1999-08-31: CME7965 PA31 aborted take off on departure Runway 03 at Charlottetown due unspecified Engine Problem. Pilot taxied back to the Ramp. TSB case close. More information to follow. Update: The pilot rejected the Take Off due to an engine underspeed condition. The aircraft was taxied back to the ramp where it was inspected by company maintenance. It was determined that the Prop Governor on # 2 engine was faulty and it was replaced with a serviceable unit. The aircraft was ground run and returned to service. The faulty Prop Governor had accumulated approximately 500 hours since overhaul. The operator has submitted an SDR to Transport Canada. TSB file # A99A0113
