Incident at FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Summary

1999-08-23: Strong ELT signal was picked up by Fredericton FSS. Check with local aircraft and all appeared normal. Using a hand ELT locator the FSS traced the signal to the Diamond Aviation hangar. Company advised that they had just received a shipped ELT that was in the Armed position and had been accidently tripped. Company will be changing their shipping procedures. Note occurrence date Aug 11/99. TSB no further action.
