Incident at St. John's NF

Summary

1999-08-23: CHI32 AS32 enroute Hibernia oil field to St. John's declared an Emergency due overheated Gearbox. Flight requested ERS standby on arrival. Flight arrived safely 1800z. TSB Case closed. Update: Inspection by the Maintenance Crew revealed that the Oil Temperature Probe was defective which caused the Oil Temperature Gauge to Peg at maximum. A new Probe was installed and the aircraft was Ground run without any reccurrence of the problem. TSB File # A99A0109
