Accident at Elgin

Summary

1999-08-11: CFQNF Murphy Rebel bungee cord gear let-go on landing at Elgin, NB and the aircraft nosed-over. 2 POB -- no injuries. Update: A bolt pulled through a supporting gear strut and the gear collapsed. The aircraft skidded about 130 feet before nosing over and coming to a stop. The pilot and eleven year old passenger were uninjured. The aircraft had logged about two hundred previous landings. TSB File # A99A0101
