Incident at Shearwater


1999-07-23: ON LANDING THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE RUNWAY. THE PROPELLER WAS DAMAGE. OTHER DAMAGE NOT YET ASSESSED. UPDATE: 9-07-21 MEMO TO FILE AIRCRAFT INCIDENT AT SHEARWATER, NOVA SCOTIA WITH AIRCRAFT C-GOBR. This aircraft is a Cessna 150 operated by the Shearwater Flying Club. The propeller contacted the ground on landing bending both tips back approximately 2 inches. The engine was at idle at the time and did not stop. An inspection of the aircraft has been carried out by the Clubs AMO. The engine was removed and dissembled for inspection. No problems were found. No damage to the engine mount occurred. One wing tip touched the ground with no damage other than some scraped paint. A new propeller is on order for installation.
