Incident at Charlottetown PEI

Summary

1999-06-23: The Swearingen SA226-TC aircraft was on a scheduled Cargo Flight from Moncton to Charlottetown when power was reduced for descent, the Torque on the # 1 engine did not reduce below 1,500 pounds. As this was too much power to attempt a landing the pilot requested and received clearance to return to Moncton. Prior to starting descent into Moncton the pilot secured the engine to prepare for landing and the single engine landing was uneventful. Maintenance replaced the FCU and returned the aircraft to service. TSB Case closed. TSB File # A99A0083
