Incident at Wabush NF

Summary

1999-07-20: CFWAM G159 on approach to Wabush reported loss of right engine. Aircraft continued approach and landed without incident 2117z. TSB evaluating. Update: The crew manually feathered the # 2 propeller and landed the aircraft without further incident. Weather was reported as 15 miles in scattered rain showers, temperatures from 15000 to 6000 feet ranged between 8-10 degrees and the fuel filter de-icing was positioned on "High" for 30 seconds. The aircraft was inspected and no mechanical deficiencies were observed. The aircraft was ground run, flight tested and returned to service without further incident. The operator suspects fuel system icing as a factor in the incident. TSB File # A99A0069
