Incident at Halifax Intl

Summary

1999-05-17: TSC267 B757 departing Runway 24 at Halifax was assigned a heading of 260 degrees due inbound traffic. The heading was readback correctly but the pilot continued further right causing a potential conflict with the inbound aircraft. ATC noticed the failure to comply with instructions and provided vectors to both aircraft to preserve separation. The aircraft passed apprx 4-5 miles apart same altitude. Nil TSB
