Incident at enroute from Cincinnati to Brussels


1999-03-25: SAB544 MD11 enroute Cincinnati to Brussels declared an emergency and requested clearence to divert to Gander or Montreal when the first officer became sick and went into a coma . Captain then advised that the sick officer had been moved to the galley and waiting doctors decisions before executing turnback. After the co-pilot appeared stabled, the captain confirmed his decision to proceed to Montreal for operational reasons and passed along thanks. He advised that another first officer was onboard assisting in the cockpit. Update :TSB file # A99A0039 TSB case closed
