Incident at Charlottetown, P.E.I. (Incursion - runway - vehicle)

Summary

1999-02-17: Air Canada tug was left runnig, parked on the apron. The operator believes the tug was in nuetral with the Parking Brake on. A landing aircraft advised FSS that a piece of equipment was moving, unattended. The tug crossed the apron out towards Bravo taxiway where it went into the grassed area and proceeded across the runway. TC firehall and maintenance staff took Air Canada staff out to the tug and escorted them back. The tug has been taken out of service until inspected by a mechanic. Nil TSB
