Incident at HALIFAX / STANFIELD INTL NS (CYHZ)

Summary

1999-02-18: GAA343 SF34 landing Halifax Intl developed nose wheel steering problem while taxiing on runway `15. Pilot was unable to depart or remove the aircraft from the runway. Aircraft was towed clear 2215z. Apprx 10 aircraft were delayed or held on the ground. Nil TSB Update: Maintenance advised that the flight had slipped on an ice patch and the nose gear went beyond its normal towing limits. They also advised that this is a fairly common occurrence with this type of aircraft. There was no concern for structural damage but there was for the wiring harness attached to the nose gear. Maintenance completed an inspection, nil damage, aircraft returned to service.
